These artworks are the latest series of work by Shelley Rose, exploring ways of creating unique prints. For a long time he has been pursuing a more expressive way of presenting photography, especially when the subject is to do with place or environment.
Loosely brushed colour is applied onto a prepared fresco ground and the image is overprinted with black ink, thus completing the three-part composition. This innovative technique is particularly suited to the atmospheric subject matter and results in one-off unique prints, displaying a hand-rendered surface.
